BellMark Partners Managing Director Andy Vollmer recently joined the Smart Business Dealmakers podcast to discuss the record level of M&A activity in 2021, factors contributing to increased activity, the consequences for both buyers and sellers, and what to expect during 2022.
Andy is the head of the Cleveland office for BellMark Partners, LLC. He has more than 30 years of investment banking experience and has successfully completed more than 100 M&A transactions, special committee, and board advisory assignments throughout his career.
On the Jan. 28 episode of the Smart Business Dealmakers podcast, Andy lent his experience and expertise to provide context for the state of the M&A environment in 2021, which included unprecedented liquidity, exceptionally high valuations, and a return to transaction levels that met or exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
Andy also discussed how operational pressures, from supply chain issues to commodity costs and more, affected dealmaking in 2021. He provided insight into how some companies are using M&A to address supply chain concerns, production capacity, and even near-term solutions to acquire more talent. Vollmer also offered his forecast for the state of M&A throughout the rest of Q1 and the rest of 2022.
